ขับรถเที่ยว สโลว์ไลฟ์ที่อุทัยธานี ชิลริมแม่น้ำสะแกกรัง 

Uthai Thani road trip, chilling along Sakae Krang river

เมื่อต้นปีค่ะ ขับรถไปเที่ยวจังหวัดอุทัยธานีกับที่บ้านมาค่ะ สามคนกับหนึ่งน้องหมาตั้งใจจะไปกราบพระและไปชิลริมแม่น้ำสะแกกรังค่ะ สโลว์ไลฟ์

Over one week-end earlier this year, we (3 adults and 1 puppy) took a road trip to Uthai Thani province located on Northern central part of Thailand by peaceful Sakae Krang river. Sometimes, visiting a place that things go slowly and peacefully, it actually did boost up our energy. Let’s see what this province has to offer.

จังหวัดอุทัยธานีซึ่งเป็นจังหวัดเล็กๆทางภาคกลางตอนบน ตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำสะแกกรังที่มีความสงบ เรียบง่าย นอกจากวัดวาอารามและวิวสบายๆของแม่น้ำสะแกรกรังแล้ว หลังๆมานี้อุทัยธานีได้รับความสนใจจากชาวไทยเพิ่มมากขึ้นมากนะคะ หลังจากที่สมเด็จพระเทพรัตน์ฯทรงมาปลูก “บ้าน” ริมแม่น้ำไว้ และเสด็จมาประทับอยู่เนืองๆ จากกรุงเทพฯ ระยะทางขับรถประมาณ 220กิโลเมตร ถนนหลวงก็4เลนส์นะคะ ขับได้เรื่อยๆ ใช้เวลาประมาณไม่เกิน3ชั่วโมงจาก กรุงเทพฯค่ะ ถ้าใช้ทางด่วนด้วยก็เร็วขึ้น

The distance from Bangkok to Uthai Thani is approximately 220 kilometers and takes around 3 hours to get there. (might be a little faster if you take Express way from downtown Bangkok)

เราออกกันตอนไม่เช้ามากราวๆ 9โมง แวะเอ้อระเหยตามทาง ซื้อกาแฟมั่งเข้าห้องน้ำมั่ง กว่าจะไปถึงก็ 11โมงครึ่งกว่าค่ะ  

We left around 9 AM and drove along highway, stopped here & there for coffee & things. We arrived Uthai Thani just before noon.

ขับรถเข้าตัวอำเภอเมืองอุทัยมา เป็นเมืองเล็กๆสงบเรียบร้อย ตึกรามบ้านช่องเป็นสีม่วงแทบทั้งหมดค่ะ สวยยย (สีนี้ถูกจริต FoodSpaceเป็นการส่วนตัวค่ะ) น่าจะเป็นการทาสีประจำพระองค์สมเด็จพระเทพรัตน์ฯ เพราะท่านทรงสร้างวัง (ที่ท่านทรงเรียกว่าบ้าน) ไว้ที่นี่นะคะ ขับรถวนดูตัวเมืองเขารอบนึงแป๊บเดียวก็ทั่วเมืองค่ะ เวลาก็ล่วงเลยมาเที่ยงนิดๆแล้ว จุดหมายแรกของเราจึงไม่ใช่วัด แต่เป็นร้านอาหารเที่ยงเลย อิอิ เราทำการบ้านมาเขาว่าร้านนกน้อยริมแม่น้ำ รสชาติใช้ได้มีที่นั่งทั้งห้องแอร์และโต๊ะด้านนอกที่น้องหมานั่งได้ด้วย ก็เลยขับรถมุ่งตรงไปเลยค่ะ

Uthai Thani is now a purple city! That what we saw from our first glance when we entered the city. This was because HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has a river-front palace (she prefers to call it a house) in this city. Purple is HRH's color and the people of Uthai Thani painted their buildings to honor HRH. It was noon and we felt that temples can wait for us but what we needed the most now was lunch! So, we headed to a local river-front restaurant 'Nok-Noi'.

ร้านอาหารนกน้อย อยู่ถัดออกมาจากตัวตลาดในตัวเมืองเพียงนิดเดียว ขับรถมา5นาทีถึงค่ะ เป็นร้านติดแม่น้ำสะแกกรัง ขายอาหารไทยรสชาติดี จัดจ้านพองาม เราหาโต๊ะด้านนอกนั่งแล้วสั่งกันเลยค่ะ

Nok-Noi restaurant is located on the river bank and offers casual Thai cuisine in gardening & relaxing ambience.

ตามประสา เราก็สั่งอาหารมามากมายสำหรับ 3คน เมนูที่ชอบมากๆคือปลาแรดทอดกระเทียมพริกไทยค่ะ ปลาสดมาก กรอบนอกนุ่มใน เสริฟพร้อมน้ำจิ้มซีฟู้ด และซอสพริกแล้วแต่คนชอบค่ะ ต้มยำกุ้งน้ำข้นก็อร่อยกลมกล่อมนะคะกุ้งตัวโดสดเนื้อเด้งๆเลยค่ะ ยำเห็ดโคนที่หายากก็มีค่ะ

We ordered several signature dishes including deep-fried whole fish with garlic & pepper, Tom Yum Goong (famous Thai spicy soup with prawns), stir-fried mixed vegetables, crispy fish topped with Thai red curry, basic pork fired rice and rare mushroom spicy salad.

เกือบบ่ายสอง พอได้อาหารใส่ท้อง กินอิ่ม(มาก) มีแรงแล้ว ก็ไปหาความเป็นสิริมงคลใส่ตัวกันค่ะ เราเริ่มที่วัดชื่อดังของเมืองอุทัยกันเลย คือวัดจันทราราม (วัดท่าซุง)นั่นเอง วัดนี้มีวิหารแก้วที่ประดับกระจก วิบวับสวยงาม

Around 2PM, after we were stuffed with delicious Thai food, we headed to visit the famous Ta-sung temple (AKA: Chantraram temple) home of the gorgeous Buddhism crystal church.

อยู่ที่วัดเกือบชั่วโมงค่ะ เราได้ไปกราบร่างหลวงพ่อฤาษีลิงดำในวิหารด้วยค่ะ วัดกว้างขวางใหญ่โต มีที่จอดรถมากมายค่ะ แดดร้อน คนเยอะนะคะ ไปเที่ยวก็ทำใจไว้ด้วยค่ะ

We stayed in the temple for almost an hour to explore several corners of this huge temple. There were a lot, I mean a lot of people and the heat and the Sun. Be prepare so that you won't get frustrated when traveling to these touristic places. Then, in late afternoon, we decided to go check in at the resort which was 15-minute far away from the city center (to make sure we don't get lost when it's too dark at night). And this was what we saw ...

ชิลมว๊ากกก very relaxing

ดูนู่นนี่ที่วัดเสร็จแล้วก็อยากไปเช็คอินดูที่พักก่อน เนื่องจากมีน้องหมามาด้วย จึงมีข้อจำกัดพอสมควรค่ะ เช็คไปมาได้ความว่ารีสอร์ตชื่อ River Marinaที่อยู่ติดแม่น้ำ อนุญาตให้พาน้องหมาตัวเล็กๆเข้าพักด้วยได้ ก็เลยจองมาล่วงหน้าค่ะ แต่ดูจากแผนที่ใน Google Map แม้ว่าจะอยู่ใกล้วัดท่าซุงและอยู่ติดแม่น้ำแต่ว่ามันอยู่อีกฝั่งของแม่น้ำค่ะ เลยต้องขับรถกลับมาข้ามสะพานไปหน่อย ใช้เวลาประมาณ 15 นาทีจากวัดท่าซุงค่ะ ขับออกมาไกลขึ้นๆ ซักพักเป็นถนนกลาวงทุ่งนาเลยค่ะ ดูไกลเชียว แล้ว 15นาทีก็มาถึงนะคะ

After visiting the beautiful temple together with half a million people, we decided to head to rest at our accommodation a bit. Prior to our arrival, we checked online to see where can we bring our puppy to stay with. We learnt that River Marina is a pet-friendly resort and located by the river. We, therefore, booked this place in advance. From the Ta-sung temple, this resort was on the opposite side of the river, so need to drive back to town and cross the bridge. Overall, it took us 15 minutes to get to the resort which was not bad at all. Plus, you got to see rice field view along the way!

รีสอร์ตนี้เป็นสวนเขียวๆมาเลยค่ะ มีที่พักทั้งทีเป็นเรือนแพริมน้ำชิลๆและที่เป็นอาคารบนฝั่งนะคะ ดูเก่าๆโทรมๆแต่พนักงานบริการดีแบบธุรกิจครอบครัวค่ะ เช็คอินแล้วก็ไปนั่งเล่นริมแม่น้ำค่ะ เงียบสงบ ลมเย็น ชิลดีค่ะ พักผ่อนกันซักพัก ก็ขับรถออกมาเที่ยวต่อค่ะ

This is a garden-resort type, very much aged but peaceful. There were both floated houses and small huts on the land. It was operated in a family-business like and the service was nice. We rest by the river for a while then went back to the city for more sightseeing.

ถนนคนเดินตรอกโรงยา เป็นย่านค้าขายในซอยอาคารไม้เตี้ยๆสองชั้น เย็นๆจะคึกคักนะคะ มีร้านรวงขายของมากมายแต่ยังรักษาความเป็นตัวเองไว้ได้ดีนะคะ ไม่แพลตตินั่มมากเกิน เดินเพลินๆค่ะ

Rong-Ya alley is one of the must-do attractions of Uthai Thani. It is famous for its night market along the small two-store wooden townhouse alley. We drove around and walked here and there a bit.

หลังจากนั่นพอเริ่มบ่ายแก่ๆ เราก็ขับรถขึ้นเขาสะแกรกรัง ไปดูวิวเมืองจากด้านบน แบบ Bird-eye-view ค่ะ มีวัดและอาคารคล้านวัดจีนอยู่ด้านบนเขาด้วย มีลานจอดรถและจุดชมวิวเป็นระเบียบดี จอดรถแล้วถึงเลยนะคะ ไม่ต้องปีนเขาขึ้นไปอีกให้เมื่อยค่ะ เราไปถ่ายภาพกันและเข้าไปกราบพระ ไว้เจ้าแม่กวนอิมบนเขากันด้วยค่ะ

Late evening, we planned to go up the 'Sakae Krang' hill to see the city from Bird-eye-view. We drove up the hill and stopped at the view point. It wasn't that high above the city but high enough to see the city and the Sakae Krang river.

เสร็จแล้วก็ถึงเวลาเดินตลาดริมน้ำ หาอะไรง่ายๆกินมื้อเย็นค่ะ ไปกับข้าราชการเกษียน2ท่านกับน้องหมา1ตัวนะคะ ทริบนี้จึงเน้นกินเร็ว นอนเร็ว ตื่นเช้าค่ะ 555 ซึ่งไม่มีปัญหา เราไปนั่งชิลต่อที่รีสอร์ตริมแม่น้ำของเราได้ค่ะ ตลาดริมน้ำเป็นตลาดที่คนอุทัยฯเองก็มาจับจ่ายซื้อของ ข้าวสารอาหารแห้งตามปกตินะคะ มีกับข้าวสำเร็จรูป อะไรต่อมิอะไรเยอะเชียวค่ะ เราชอบเดินตลาดค่ะไม่ว่าจะไปจังหวัดไหนหรือประเทศไหน การเดินตลาดจะทำให้เราเห็นถึงวิถีชีวิตของคนในเมืองนั้นๆได้ง่ายและชขัดเจนที่สุดค่ะ

When the evening approached, we went to the local market by the river to buy something easy for dinner. This trip, I went with my retired parents and a dog, so the concept is chill, early dinner, early sleep and early wake up! LoL

ระหว่างเดินๆตลาดมองเห็นบ้านแพมากมายจอดอยู่ริมน้ำ คนที่นี่ยังมีคนอาศัยอยู่ในแพจริงๆไม่น้อยนะคะ มองเลยข้ามแม่น้ำไป อ่าว นั่นวัดที่จดไว้ว่าต้องไปเที่ยวนี่นา วัดอุโปสถาราม ต้้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำเลย วัดนี้เป็นวัดเก่าแก่ที่มีศิลปะทางด้านสถาปัตยกรรมที่หลากหลาย ทั้งมณฑปทรงแปดเหลี่ยมที่ออกไปทางสถาปัตยกรรมตะวันตก ตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำสะแกรกรังเลย มองเห็นได้ชัดเจนจากตลาดค่ะ ตลาดแห่งนี้พ่อค้าแม่ค้าและชาวบ้านร้านตลาดบอกว่าได้รับเสด็จฯ สมเด็จพระเทพรัตน์ฯอย่างไม่เป็นทางการอยู่บ่อยๆด้วยค่ะ

Oposataram Temple is an ancient temple in Uthai Thani. This river-front temple has diverse architectures (Western mixed with Thai). It is located just across the river from the local market that we're walking in now! By the way, merchants in this market told us that they have had opportunities to meet HRH when she comes to this city on non-official visit and she loves visiting this market. 

เย็นนี้ก็หาข้าวต้มกินง่ายๆ แล้วเข้าที่พักตั้งแต่ยังไม่สามทุ่มค่ะ เราก็ออกมานั่งดริ๊งริมน้ำ ชิลแบบโลคัลๆของเราไปค่ะ สงบและสบ๊ายสบาย

The Sun was gone, we were back at our accommodation. I was out drinking with the moon by the peaceful river. My dad came to join me and we had easy talk with our local beer. It was very very relaxing.

เช้ามาก็กินอาหารเช้าของทางรีสอร์ตนะคะ ให้เลือกระหว่างข้าวต้มหรืออาหารเช้าแบบฝรั่ง อเมริกันเบรกฟาส์ต คุณพ่อเลือกข้าวต้มแต่เรากะคุณแม่เลือกชุดฝรั่งค่ะ ก็มาเป็นโฮมเมดพอทานได้นะคะ ไข่ดาว แฮมฮ๊อกดอกและผักนิดหน่อยรวมชา-กาแฟและน้ำผลไม้แบบบริการตัวเองค่ะ เราเอาลงมากินที่ริมน้ำ โอ๊ยย ชิลค่ะ นั่งๆนอนๆอืดๆจนสายก็เช็คเอ้าท์แล้วออกเดินทางกลับบ้านค่ะ ไปขับรถรอบเมืองสีม่วงอีกหนึ่งรอบค่ะแวะซื้อของฝากติดไม้ติดมือกลับบ้านนิดหน่อย เป็นทริบสั้นๆที่ชอบมากค่ะ ไม่รีบเร่ง มาเสาร์-อาทิตย์ได้ไม่ต้องลางาน แต่วันนี้เผอิญมีธุระต่อเลยไม่ได้แวะเที่ยวอะไรมากอีก วัดถ้ำเขาวงก็ยังไม่ได้ไป ตลาดกลางคืนก็ยังไม่ได้เดิน ฝากรูปสุดท้ายเป็นวิวก่อนกลับ เดี๋ยววันหลังจะมาใหม่นะคะ

in the morning, we had our breakfast at the resort (included in the accommodation fee). There were options of Thai boiled rice or American-type breakfast. My mom and I had ABF-like choice while my dad had Thai boiled rice. There were coffee, tea and juice made available for all guests also. We rested at the resort for a while then we said good-bye to this purple city and headed back home. It was a short but happy trip. There were a few places in Uthai Thani that we didn't visit yet, but we have another appointment this evening. So, maybe next time. Definitely, for me, there'll be my next time to this peaceful province.
