ต้นๆเดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ.2561 เราไปเที่ยวเวียงจันทร์ด้วยการนั่งรถไฟรุ่นใหม่ไฮโซ ที่สวยและทันสมัยมาก จากกรุงเทพฯไปหนองคายแล้วนั่งรถต่อไปเวียงจันทร์มาค่ะ จุดเด่นที่พวกเราตั้งตารอคอยของทริบนี้คือการเดินทางโดยรถไฟค่ะ เรากับเพื่อน (รวม 2คน) ตื่นเต้นมาก เพราะไม่ได้ใช้บริการของการรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทยมาเป็นสิบๆปีแล้วค่ะ ได้ยินว่ารถไฟนอนขบวนใหม่หรูหราดีอยู่เลยไปลองกัน บอกเลยว่าชิลเว่อร์แถมได้ฟิลลิ่งแฮรี่พอตเตอร์นิดๆด้วยค่ะ
My friend and I (total 2 adults) traveled to Vientiane over the weekend (October 2018) by very nice night train from Bangkok. This year, I've been traveling abroad quite a lot by flights. We heard that Thai railways authority launched its new, hi-so (thai way to say luxurious) and modern train last year and we decided to give it a try for our Laos trip. I'm tellling you .. it was an awesome decision!
เริ่มที่การซื้อตั๋ว เราก็ไปหาข้อมูล ตาม googleทั่วไป ก็ได้ความว่า รถด่วนพิเศษขบวนใหม่ไฮโซนี้ ชื่อ “อีสานมรรคา” หรือขบวนหมายเลข 25 ออกจาก กทม. เวลา 2ทุ่มและจะไปถึงหนองคายเช้าวันรุ่งขึ้นประมาณ 7โมงเช้า สามารถจองได้ 3 ช่องทางคือ
- website www.railway.or.th สามารถจ่ายเงินตัดบัตรเครดิตได้เลยด้วยแต่ต้องไปรับตั๋วก่อนเวลารถออกนะคะ
- ทางที่สองคือ call center โทร 1690 (จองเสร็จแล้วต้องไปจ่ายตังรับตั๋วได้ที่สถานีรถไฟไหนก็ได้ภายใน 24ชั่วโมง)
- ทางที่สามคือไปซื้อตั๋วที่สถานีรถไฟเลย สามารถซื้อล่วงหน้าได้หลายวันนะคะ
ในส่วนของทีนั่งในรถไฟขบวนนี้ก็มีระดับที่นั่งให้เลือก2แบบคือ ชั้นหนึ่งเป็นห้องส่วนตัวนอนได้ 2 คน และชั้นสองแบบนอนรวม ขบวนนี้เป็นรถนอนติดแอร์เท่านั้นไม่มีชั้นสามที่นั่งหลังแข็งนะคะ บอกแล้วว่ารถไฟเค้าไฮโซ ... ข้อควรระวัง กรุณาเช็ค train number ให้ถูกต้องมิฉะนั้นท่านจะได้นั่งรถแบบเก่าที่สภาพ ..เอิ่ม .. ตามภาพด้านล่างนะคะ
To prepare for this train trip, firstly, I did some online research and found that this specific Hi-so train is called 'Isan Makka' which is train number 25. It operates daily and leaves Bangkok at 8PM to arrive in NongKhai around 7AM of the following day. You can buy the tickets online or via call center or the most traditional way - at the train station. When you make a booking, ensure that it's the number "25" train, otherwise you might end up with an 11-hours trip in an old-style train. See comparative pictures below for your idea.
มาดูเรื่องราคากันบ้างค่ะ เตียงข้างล่างจะแพงกว่าข้างบนในทุกชั้นนะคะ ชั้นหนึ่งเตียงด้านล่างราคาต่อเที่ยว 1,557 บาท เตียงด้านบน 1,357 บาท ไป2คนราคารวม 2,914บาทต่อเที่ยว แต่ถ้าไปคนเดียวอยากเกร๋ขั้นสุดก็เหมาห้องได้ในราคา 2,357 บาทต่อเที่ยว (สำหรับเดินทางคนเดียว) ราคาของที่นั่งชั้นสองจะตกคนละไม่ถึงหนึ่งพันบาทนะคะคือนอนข้างล่าง 988บาทถ้าเป็นข้างบนจะเป็น 898 บาท เราดูแล้วเห็นว่ามันไม่ได้ต่างกันมากนักก็เลือกนั่งชั้นหนึ่งไปเลย เพราะตามรูปในเวบไซท์มันดูสวยกว่า เป็นส่วนตัวกว่าค่ะ
In terms of price, this speedy sleeping train (yes, 11-hour train is called speedy in Thailand) has only 2 classes of seats/beds which are the 1st and 2nd class and they all come with air conditioner. The first-class seat costs (one-way) THB 1,557 for the lower bed and THB 1,357 for the upper bed. If you travel alone and wish to take the entire cabin, it will cost you THB 2,357. For the 2nd class seats (one way), the upper bed costs THB998 and the lower bed costs THB 898. My friend and I decided to go for the 1st class as the fare aren't that much different. The 1st-class cabin offers a private & lockable room and we like to keep our privacy. So, 1st class it is.
รถไฟใหม่กับรถไฟเก่าราคาต่างกันเที่ยวละไม่กี่ร้อยบาท สภาพผิดกันไกลค่ะ เอาที่สะดวกใจนะคะ New train & Old train
มาถึงวันเดินทางแล้วค่ะ ตื่นเต้นๆ เราเคยเดินทางด้วยรถไฟที่ยุโรปหลายครั้งในปลายประเทศนะคะ ที่ญี่ปุ่นก็เคยเช่นกัน ตอนนั้นก็ชื่นชมรถไฟในประเทศที่เจริญแล้วมากๆค่ะ ดีงาม ตรงเวลา สะอาดสะดวก ทีนี้พอถึงคิวรีวิวรถไฟไทยนะคะ มันก็ตื่นเต้นจริงๆอ่ะค่ะ เราไปถึงหัวลำโพงต้นสาย เวลา 19.40น ประมาณ 20นาทีก่อนรถไฟออก เราตะลึงในความเป็นหัวลำโพงสมัยใหม่มากเพราะไม่เคยมาร่วม 20 ปีแล้ว (เค้ารู้อายุหมดเลยทีนี้) หัวลำโพงวันนี้ มีจอบอกเวลารถไฟเข้าออก บอกชานชลา ช่องซื้อตั๋วก็รับทั้งเงินสดและบัตรเครดิตด้วย แต่ก็ยังมีคนนั่งกองๆที่พื้นรอเวลาขึ้นรถไฟอยู่เยอะนะคะเพราะเก้าอี้ไม่พอนั่ง โชคดีที่เรามาไม่เร็วมากไป พอเดินซื้อขนมอะไรๆติดมือขึ้นไปกินบนรถไฟเพิ่มอีกนิดหน่อย (เพราะเราพกเครื่องดื่มและขนมมาเองจากบ้านเยอะแล้วค่ะ) ก็เดินขึ้นรถไฟไปสวยๆได้เลยค่ะ คุณเจ้าหน้าที่ดูตั๋วแล้วก็ดูแลอย่างดี ช่วยยกกระเป๋าขึ้นรถไฟให้ด้วย แล้วก็ชี้ให้ขึ้นให้ถูกขบวนด้วยนะคะ
Now it comes the real travel day! I was too excited as my perception on Thai train was not at all positive. I used to commute by trains in European countries as well as Japan where their trains and service were so advanced and punctual. Nonetheless, the first impression when I hopped on the new Thai train bogy, I just couldn't say anything else but WOW! Its interior was new, clean and modern though it looked rather normal and quite old fasion from the outside.
ความรู้สึกแรกตอนมองจากด้านนอก ตู้โบกี้มันก็ไม่ไหม่อะไรนะคะ เห็นเบาะแดงๆจากทางหน้าต่างก็คิดว่า เออ คงซื้อตั๋วถูกขบวนแล้วล่ะ พอได้ขึ้นไปบนรถก็เลี้ยวไปตู้ชั้น1ที่อยู่ท้ายขบวนสุด แล้วหาห้องเราที่นั่ง 11-12 อยู่ในห้องเดียวกัน ทีนี้มาเลยค่ะ ความรู้สึกกรี๊ดกร๊าดสนุกสนานทั้งปวง เพราะรถไฟใหม่มาก สะอาด สวยงาม ห้องเป็นสัดส่วน คุณเจ้าหน้าที่เอาน้ำมาแจกที่ห้องคนละขวด เราก็เก็บกระเป๋าใต้เบาะที่นั่งข้างล่างไป (กระเป๋าลาก 3 ใบและเป้อีก 1ใบ ใส่ได้สบายค่ะ) เราก็ตื่นเต้นถ่ายรูปในห้องไปมากมาย ชั้น1มีที่ชาร์ตแบตมือถือแบบ USB มีทีวี 2 เครื่องสำหรับเตียงบนและล่างไม่ต้องแย่งกัน มีช่องเสียบหูฟัง (แต่ต้องเอาหูฟังมาเองนะคะ) จอทีวีมีละครด้วยและมีช่องแสดง GPS ด้วยว่าเราอยู่ไหนแล้วป้ายหน้าคืออะไร อีกประมาณกี่นาทีจะถึงสถานีถัดไปและอีกประมาณี่นาทีจะถึงสถานีปลายทาง เหมือนในเครื่องบินเลยค่ะ มีประโยชน์มากค่ะ ในห้องชั้นหนึ่งยังมีอ่างล่างหน้าด้วย มีประตูเปิดเชื่อมกับอีกห้องได้ด้วยในกรณีมาด้วยกัน 4 คน นั่งคุยนอนคุยกันได้สบายเลยค่ะ
We were in room #11-12. Inside the 1st class room, there were 2 seats which would later be transformed in to the lower bed. It had private sink, USB port to charge your phone and other electronic devices, 2 TVs for both the upper and lower beds that show GPS, Map and some TV drama - just like airplane onbaord entertainment with less options. There were earphone sockets (bring your own earphone/speaker) if you wish to listen to the TV. Right after we stored our bags under the lower seat space, the train officer came to offer us 2 bottles of free water. If you come with a group of 4 people, 2 private rooms can be opened and merged into one nice lounge.

พอถ่ายรูปในห้องเสร็จเราเดินสำรวจนู่นนี่นอกห้อง ชั้น 1 มีแค่ 20กว่าเตียง มีห้องน้ำในขบวนตัวเอง 4ห้อง เป็นห้องขับถ่าย 2, ห้องปัสวะชาย 1 และห้องอาบน้ำฝักบัว อีก 1ห้องค่ะ สะดวกและมีอัตราส่วนที่ดีค่ะ พอเราเดินกลับมาถึงห้อง เพื่อนก็บอกว่าเอา WiFi password ไหม เราก็กรี๊ดอีก ห๊ะ มีวายฟายด้วย โอ้ย มันจะเริ่สไปไหน แอบรู้สึกผิดที่ไปมีทัศนคติไม่ดีกับการรถไฟก่อนหน้านี้มากค่ะ ความที่เตรียมขนมเตรียมน้ำมากินเองบ้างแล้วก็เริ่มลงมือจัดเตรียมอุปกรณ์ แต่เรื่องอาหารเย็นตั้งใจจะมากินที่ตู้เสบียงอยู่แล้วค่ะ ถามคุณเจ้าหน้าที่เขาบอกว่าอาหารอยู่ตู้ 9 ก็เล็งๆว่าพอรถไฟออกตัวซักแป๊บเราก็ค่อยเดินไปกิน ไม่รู้มีเมนูอะไรบ้าง
After exploring our room, I went to see around the 1st class bogy and found that 3 toilets plus a shower room were at the end of the bogy, very good for 20-something first-class passengers. When I returned to our room, my friend told me that they have free WiFi - OMG! This is Thailand 2018 and free WiFi is considered a luxury! We asked the train officer about the food train and we were informed that it was on train number 9 which was 4 bogy away from our number 13 bogy.
ความคิดก็ถูกหยุดลงด้วยเสียงพี่ผู้หญิงคนนึงที่พูดว่า รับอาหารอะไรไหมคะ พร้อมยื่นเมนูมาให้พวกเราในห้อง โหย มันช่างดีงามประจวบเหมาะเสียนี่กระไร ดูเมนูแล้วก็สั่งกับพี่เขาไป เขาบอกว่าจะกินในห้องเราก็ได้จะไปกินที่ตู้เสบียงก็ได้ อาหารเช้าก็สั่งไว้ก่อนเขาจะได้เตรียมไว้ เรากับเพื่อนอยากเดินไปดูตู้เสบียงก็เลยบอกเขาว่าจะไปกินที่ตู้เสบียงซักประมาณ 3ทุ่ม (เค้าปิด 4ทุ่ม) แต่ตอนนี้ อยากได้ขนมปังปิ้งและน้ำแข็งจะเอามาทานกับอาหารเรียกน้ำย่อยและเครื่องดื่มที่เตรียมมา พี่เขาก็จัดมาให้เลยค่ะ เสริฟถึงห้อง เราก็แถมทิบให้เขาไปนิดหน่อยพองาม
Surprisingly, after the food conversation, we heard a lady's voice asking if we would like to order any meal for dinner or breakfast. It was the lady from the food train with a picture menu in English and Thai in her hands. They opens from 5AM to 10 PM and we could choose to have food deliered to our room or we could go to the food bogy. We chose the later as we wanted to see the rest of the train as well. We ordered our dinner and informed them that we will eat at 9PM because we would like to have the appetiser we brought in our room before dinner. We ordered ice and toasts to accompany our French Chanpagne and French pate appetiser. I know it was somehow luxury but it was the way we like it ! :-)
อาหารเรียกน้ำย่อยและเครื่องดื่มที่คู่ควรกับรถไฟไฮโซค่ะ เยอะมาก กินซะจนจะทานข้าวเย็นไม่ลง สะใจดีค่ะ Our own French Chanpagne and French pate appetiser with cheese and assorted nuts.
ระหว่างทางเดินไปตู้เสบียงจากชั้นหนึ่ง(ตู้ที่ 13)และตู้เสบียง (ตู้ที่9) เราก็เดินผ่านเพื่อนๆชั้น 2 ไปหลายตู้ค่ะ ความไฮเทคก็บังเกิดเมื่อประตูระหว่างตู้เป็นแบบไฟฟ้าใช้มือสัมผัสเหมือนรถไฟระเทศเจริญแล้วเลย ปลื้มมากในจุดนี้ค่ะ ตู้นอนชั้น2 ก็มีความสวยงาม ใหม่ สะอาด และดูสะดวกสบายเช่นกันนะคะต่างจากชั้นหนึ่งตรงที่นอนรวมและมีผ้าม่านกั้นให้ความเป็นส่วนตัวเท่านั้นค่ะ อ้อ แล้วก็ไม่มีทีวีส่วนตัวค่ะ
When we finished our appetiser, we walked along the corridor to the food train and passed several 2nd class sleeper bogies. They looked nice, new and very comfortable as well. They didn't have personalTV but had curtain to keep their privacy unlike to 1st class rooms that had loackable doors. There were no 3rd class nor economy class in this trian, so everyone had a good bed to lay down for 11-12 hours until we reach our destination.
มาถึงแล้วตู้เสบียง ก็มีน้ำ มีอาหาร มีขนมอะไรๆขาย เปิดตั้งกะ ตีห้าถึงสี่ทุ่มค่ะ อาหารเช้าควรสั่งก่อนตั้งแต่ตอนกลางคืนเขาจะได้เตรียมไว้ให้พร้อม มื้อค่ำเราสั่งชุดค่ะแล้วก็ปีกไก่ทอด ส่วนมื้อเช้าเราสั่งกาแฟคนละแก้วค่ะเป็นกาแฟสดด้วยนะ จะทานกับขนมปังและน้ำส้มที่มีเพราะตั้งใจจะไปทานอาหารเช้าเต็มๆที่หนองคายค่ะ พอทานอาหารค่ำอิ่มก็กลับไปที่ห้อง แปรงฟันแล้วนอนดูละครย้อนหลังจาก WiFi ของรถไฟ แต่บางช่วงสัญญาณก็แย่นะคะ มีสะดุดมีนิ่งๆไปบ้าง คุยกับเพื่อนเพลินๆแล้วก็แยกย้ายกันนอนพักผ่อนค่ะ
Here we are, the restuarant train! They offer meals, drinks and snacks. They do not sell alcoholic beverages and customers were not allow to bring and drink those in this restaurant bogy. Well, you can drink in your own room though. We also pre-ordered 2 coffee for tomorrow morning to be delivered to our room. After dinner, we went back to our room for more snacks and soap opera and found that the seats were already transformed into 2 comfy beds!

เช้าแล้วถือว่านอนหลับสบายนะคะ รถไฟมันก็มีเสียงดังบ้างตามประสา เราเดินไปห้องอาบน้ำ ล้างหน้าแปรงฟัน แล้วพี่ตู้เสบียงก็เอากาแฟที่สั่งไว้มาเสริฟพอดี จิบกาแฟชมวิวสวยๆ พร้อมรับเค้กกล้วยหอมและน้ำส้มจากเมื่อคืนเพลินเลยค่ะ
Good Morning! after over 8 hours of fine sleep (of course with some train noises), we took quick shower, brushed our teeth and had our coffee with banana cake and orange juice from last night. The view was beautiful.

สรุปสิริรวมคือ ชอบมากค่ะ ดีกว่าที่คิดไว้มากมาย เรามีถึงหนองคายประมาณ 8โมงเช้านะคะ ดีเลย์นิดนึงแต่ก็ปลอดภัย สุขกายสุขใจดีค่ะ จะนั่งรถไฟต่อเข้าเวียงจันทร์เลยก็ได้นะคะ ต้องข้ามชานชลาไปต่ออีกขบวนนึง หรือจะนั่งรถตุ๊กๆไปขึ้นรถบัสข้ามสะพานมิตรภาพไทย-ลาวก็ได้ค่ะ ส่วนพวกเราพอลงสถานีหนองคายตอนเช้าเราก็นั่งตุ๊กๆเที่ยวในเมือง ทานข้าวริมแม่น้ำโขงและเดินตลาดท่าเสด็จนิดนึงแล้วตอนเย็นๆมีญาติของเพื่อนขับรถมารับข้ามไปเวียงจันทร์ค่ะ เที่ยวเวียงจันทร์3วันก็กลับแต่กลับทางเครื่องบินนะคะเพราะวันหยุดมันหมดแล้วค่ะ ชิลมากกว่านี้ไม่ได้แล้ว เดี๋ยวมาเล่ามารีวิววิธีและขั้นตอนผ่านชายแดนไทยไปลาวทางสะพานมิตรภาพให้ชมกันในบทความหน้านะคะ ขอบคุณค่ะ
The train arrived at NongKhai at 8AM slightly delayed but it was absolutely a fine experience to ride on a Thai modern train from Bangkok to NongKhai. You could continue your train journet to Vientiane by taking a another train in the next door platform or you could take a TukTuk taxi to the international bus station as well. Our choice? We got off in NongKhai and spent our day there sight seeing, making merits, having lunch by the Mae Khong river and crossed the Friendship bridge to Vientiane in the evening. We really enjoyed our train journey!
